While Kees has returned to the farm in Ukraine to start the seeding season, the war in Ukraine is still going on. And now we've all seen what the Russian soldiers are capable there is even more urgency to stop this war as soon as possible.

The day I arrived with my kids in Romania, the day after the war in Ukraine had started, Wilfried de Moor and Johan Kruithof called me; two Dutch entrepreneurs in Poland and good friends of mine and Kees.

Many trucks have already arrived at the right destination in Ukraine last week. Your mattress, paracetamol or aggregate is currently already in use in Ukraine. It can go that fast!

Usually this foundation takes care of Dutch language and culture education. Due to the recent situation in Ukraine, the board decided to use the foundation to receive donations in order to enable the set up of a support chain from Dutch “Brabantse” entrepreneurs to the people of Ukraine.

When I became a farmer, I knew that I'd have to wage a figurative war on the traditional foes of food production: pests, weeds, and disease. I didn’t expect to find myself in an actual war zone with a lethal enemy. Yet that’s what happened when Russia invaded Ukraine, the place where I grow crops and raise livestock.

Everything has to go into the ground in 2 weeks. After all, Ukraine is still Europe's breadbasket and accounts for 1/3 of grain production.
